CENSUS RECORDS

Census records is another good source to find your ancestors here in British Columbia. The first on was done in 1881 and the last one that can be viewed is the 1911. Information on the census varies year to year but basic stuff like Name, age at the time of the census, and place birth and the name of of the children is pretty standard.

This is a photocopy of the 1891 Canadian Census. It is one of the best for information. it shows where the person was from and where the pervious generation was from.
